Much of my work centers around a photojournalistic attitude - capturing people as they are, in real time and experiencing real moments. During a wedding, I am constantly looking for opportunities, and when one presents itself I will put myself in a good place to photograph it. I love the ‘behind-the-scenes’ shots – images of fleeting, personal moments in time that tell great stories but are all too easy to miss in the midst of everything that goes on.

My influences are:

Blaine Siesser – My boss, mentor, and friend. He photographs really big weddings, which are really intense but always great fun.

Apertura - Two guys in California that are amazing storytellers with the camera. They are passionate about their work, and it shows.

Joe McNally – Legendary magazine photographer. I read ‘The Moment It Clicks’ and it completely changed the way I thought about artificial lighting and off-camera flashes.

My Dad – The first photographer to inspire me and encourage me. He puts up with me when I get all excited and show him the latest pictures.
